Miley Cyrus has hit back at her critics who have responded negatively to her dramatic new hairstyle.

The Last Song actress debuted a shorter, blonder cut on her Twitter page last Sunday, saying that she had “never felt so free”.

However, Cyrus has since hit back at her hair haters, insisting that she is happy with her new ‘do and even cited the advice of her famous father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Taking to Twitter, the 19-year-old star posted: “My dad @billyraycyrus used to tell me ‘opinions are are like !@#$%^&* holes every body [sic] has one.’”

She then added: “LOVE my hair ❤ [I] feel so happy, pretty, and free.”

Cyrus’ new hair comes just three months after she and long-term boyfriend Liam Hemsworth announced their engagement.
